Kleeer originated from Baltimore with Woody Cunningham (drums), Norman Durham (bass) and Richard Lee (guitar, keyboards), first working together as backing band for vocal group The Choice Four in 1971. Paul Crutchfield (percussion) joined the following year and they became Pipeline ahead of time together as The Universal Robot Band and ultimately Kleeer. The two albums presented here came in the mid-80s and consist all their work co-produced by the group with Eumir Deodato, concluding their time at Atlantic Records but not without delivering some of their best work. The songwriting remained largely the work of the group themselves, Woody Cunningham prolific across the two sets including some of the best loved moments Intimate Connection, Take Your Heart Away and Never Cry Again. Prior to joining Kleeer he played drums on such loft classics as Jingo and Thousand Finger Man for Candido. He became lead singer with Kleeer and later recorded two solo albums. Norman Durham was also integral to Kleeer as a bass player, enhancing songs with a spiritual energy. Both Intimate Connection and Seeekret have been on CD before, but are rare and return here with enhanced remastering which sounds krystal kleeer.
